The Cedar (Juniperus Mexicana) is a small alpine evergreen tree up to 20 feet tall and is native to Texas. Its wood is very aromatic, due to the high percentage of essential oil it contains. It is an excellent insect repellent. Ancient civilizations used it for the construction of buildings, chests, trunks, since its smell prevented moths and other insects from coming near.
