Eucalyptus Citriodora, commonly known also under the name of lemon eucalyptus or aromatic eucalyptus, belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It is a perennial tree and can measure up to 30m in height, the leaves have a light green hanging arrangement, and it is the part that gives off the aroma, a fragrance reminiscent of the smell of lemon, or citronella. It has traditionally been used to perfume clothes closets by putting a few dry leaves in a cloth bag, and since the last century it has also been used as an insect repellent. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves.
